The tricorder gave off a series of short beeps as it did its work. As Tes moved it towards the neck the small display registered what the problem was... a serious one, a broken clavicle. Three fractures ran from the upper part of the bone down at a 45 degree angle inward, not clean breaks but ones that were growing. They threatened to separate a 4 cm section of the upper clavicle entirely, something that would be a mess to repair. Every movement the Bolian made increased the fractures slightly more.
The glenohumeral ligaments had been damaged, but those were fairly simple to heal with 25th century medicine. Outpatient treatment and a couple days rest. But the clavicle? That couldn't be fixed up with an osteogenic stimulator. It was going to take surgery. It wasn't immediately life threatening, but delay only made the situation worse. The damage would have to be repaired by going in, putting in temporary pins to keep the fractures in place, and only then using the stimulator to fix the fractures.
Ejid looked nervous and winced. "How bad is it, doctor? Really hurts." He winced.
