Talking about Merle and the memories she once shared with the Bajoran Engineer had become easier over time, to the point where Aeryn no longer got upset or felt pain because of what she had lost. Seren Astrea was a recent addition to the department and was already becoming popular for joining in with the team and keeping them in sweet treats to get through a busy shift. As Sovar reached for a handful of berries, the nature of the conversation turned to Artemis, her fellow DHs and how they would potentially treat the newcomer since he was filling in for a man who had earned a lot of respect before he was unjustly taken away from them.
" If you would like my insights into the other DHs, the crew and how they'd react to you, then please call me Aeryn while we're not officially on duty", she began, thinking it was time to make things a little less formal, especially with how their meeting had gone so far. " We're a loyal crew and not just to the ship, so yes, you might face some resistance to you filling in for Damian, but it's not your fault that you were chosen to take his place while he's away, and I've enjoyed getting to know you. So my advice would be, be yourself, take the time to get to know them, talk to them and be honest if you can, earn their respect, and you shouldn't have any issues".
