Hally was an active woman, which didn’t surprise Ju one bit. She felt that most Starfleet officers were usually pretty physical since they had to stay in shape for their jobs and there was no telling when things would go down and they would need to be in good health to get out of situations. Ju liked to go to the gym as well, and when she needed a break from there she would pull up maps of Korea in the holodeck and walk through the streets of her beloved home just immersing herself in the familiarity of her surroundings. The holodeck had saved her from extreme home sickness on a myriad of occasions.
“I would love to go hiking with you at some point if you ever want company. I love exploring new places. I have always enjoyed being an engineer, but I could have easily picked science for the fact that I just love all sorts of nature. How each world is pretty unique and yet they all have such similar qualities despite their different make ups.” Ju smiled at her new found friends. She was glad she had come here now, glad she had taken up the nerve to actually talk to them and ask if she could sit with them. Turned out, they had been extremely nice, welcoming, and Ju relaxed more as the conversation continued forward.
Hally also mentioned her love of cooking, or at least experimenting with food, which caused Ju to let out a little chuckle. She loved to cook too. “We have a lot in common,” Ju admitted as then Hally went on to talk about how she loved languages. “They really are beautiful,” she admitted to the pilot. “I love how there are some languages that have singular words that encompass an entire phrase.”
Ardanna admitted she was taking cooking classes, “Oh that sounds like fun! We should all take one together! That would be such a fun girls night!” she smiled getting excited about the prospects of hanging out with her newfound friends again. Ardanna admitted that she also tinkered with small things, hit the gym, did phaser practice, and more.
Hally asked what Ju liked to do mentioning she felt like Ju was probably someone who cooked. With a laugh, Ju nodded, “That’s not, untrue.” She smirked, “I do enjoy cooking mostly I cook Korean food. When I lived with my Halmoni, she was old and tired so she taught me to cook young so I could help our family.”
“When I’m not cooking, I like to explore the planets we get to visit. I’m ridiculously addicted to sugar so I love exploring and finding new sweets and especially candy. I always have some in my pockets.” As if to prove her point she shifted in her seat and pulled out a handful of various colorful hard candies dropping them on the table. “You never know when you need a bit of a sugar rush!”
Ju thought about what else she liked to do. “Well, I’m currently working on building a robot. I get lonely sometimes, and it gives me something to do. Nothing amazing, still designing the chassis and the coding for simple tasks,” Ju admitted. “But, while I was in Korea I bought myself a pet bunny, and I brought her on board with me. That’ll give me someone to talk to and mess with when I’m off duty which is also nice.”
Ju was about to mention her bunny’s name when another woman walked up to the table. Ju had seen her around, but couldn’t actually remember her too much. Ju smiled and nodded, “I’m okay with it, if Hally and Ardanna are,” she motioned to her two table mates. “We were just talking about what we do when we aren’t saving the galaxy.”
