Ju spoke of wanting to go hiking with Hally and what career she might have ended up in if she wasn't an engineer, and Ardanna found it endearing that her two new friends had things in common. It also didn't come as much of a surprise either because the security officer had learned that it was quite common to find shared interests, hobbies, etc when around a group of people, strangers brought together by the oaths and duties they were assigned to upon graduation. Backgrounds and histories might differ, but if you could find people who you got on with and made friends with, it made life better, especially being out amongst the stars. Space could be extremely lonely, unless you were willing to make an effort, and that's what had allowed Ardanna to branch out and be more confident away from what she had always known.
The engineer liked the idea of them taking a cooking class together to make it a fun girls' night, while also answering their earlier question about what she enjoyed doing off duty. While she didn't have any pets, Ardanna wondered if she would get to meet Ju's bunny. In fact, she was just about to say something on the subject and reassure Hally regarding Norse mythology and why it was so close to her heart when they were approached by a redhead asking to join them. Ardanna didn't have an issue, as Hally welcomed her and continued the conversation.
It was then that Ardanna recognised the other woman, remembering her from the last away mission, while Hally mentioned that instead of a normal cooking lesson, they should try Korean cooking instead. She acknowledged Lucy with a smile before speaking. " You know I liked Ju's suggestion of it being a girls' night, and I think us cooking Korean food together would be just as fun", she replied, becoming more acclimated to the idea the more she thought about it. If Hally really enjoyed making friends, then Ardanna wasn't far behind the pilot with the notion, something she no longer took for granted or hid away from.
" It took me a while, but I also enjoy making friends, as I was only ever used to my freighter family".
While Hally involved Lucy by asking her the questions they had answered already, Ardanna took a moment to sit back and listen, savouring what remained of her drink, thinking herself lucky for the chance to do something she usually reserved for those in the security complex.
