The probe coasted into the system on time and on target, and immediately began collecting information from its passive sensor systems. The first object detected, by dint of its massive energy signature, was the Starbase. Then nine Hideki-class Escorts operating in groups of three orbiting the system just outside of Starbase weapons range, and within easy reach of expected approaches to the Starbase from out-system.
The smallest energy signature, barely detectable at all, was that of a Federation starship docked at one of the Starbase's external pylons. Though the energy emissions were too low to immediately identify the vessel, the IFF Transponder was still operational - the ship identified itself as Federation One. AKA the personal transport of the President of the United Federation of Planets.

Given the time available, Jadaris was able to creatively reroute power to reduce the Yeager's energy emissions enough to register as a small Destroyer or Frigate-sized vessel. There was simply no way to further "tweak" the emissions or sensor signature without taking vital systems offline.
