As was the nature of a life in Starfleet. Either nothing happened when you expected it. Or everything happened all at once.
From the moment they had arrived in hell knew where, they had sat quietly waiting and watching. In such a Low power state they were undetectable at long range. The only way that anyone would even come looking for them would be because they knew they were here.
But space is big.
So when the edge of the sensor range lit up like the thousand foot Christmas tree they put up in Tycho city each year, Flint had a feeling that their cozy hidey-hole may have been compromised.
At first, it was a blip right at the very edge of what they'd allowed themselves as a safe margin of sensor coverage. Not much farther than anyone could have seen if they looked out the window. With their eyes.
The alert was raised, and around him he could feel the bridge bustling, preparing to move on a moments notice. All the while holding its breath at the same time.
Over the course of a few more minutes, it resolved into three distinct Cardassian vessels. One standing out from its companions.
They all knew who it was.
The question was, given how big space was, how were they even in the same area. Again. And the speed they were approaching. Flint had the district feeling that they weren't exactly looking. More steamrolling their way through hoping the Yeager was going to bolt and run.
He looked back toward the Captain to see what she would order next.
