Flint turned back to his station. And began formulating his course solution. It would need to be continually updated given that the ship hadn't actually been stationary since their arrival. The Captains prior order to initiate the five second burn meant they were reliant on Newtons first law as part of their ruse.
Even if the Cardies had somehow known their original arrival coordinates to the millimetre. A random drift would be impossible to pinpoint. But yet, here they were.
Turning back again to the Captain, he asked; “Should we appraise the Lowry?”
Given their proximity, it should be possible to signal them on a low enough band without giving away their positions, but it was obviously best to ask first, rather than risk everyone.
While he waited for a reply, he had a sudden thought. And began to review some of the extremely low communications frequencies they didn't normally monitor.
