The Chief had a point regarding Security's usefulness if there wasn't any shooting involved, unless they had to defend any potential away team from murderous or dangerous plants and lifeforms. So while it had been wishful thinking, Ardanna also understood the Chief's ethos of wanting to be involved and hands-on rather than out of the way. Regardless of her role, Ardanna always wanted to be useful, whether that was defending an away team or using her extra skills if required. However, this was just speculation until they actually found out where they would be headed next and planned accordingly.
Mara answered Hally's question, remembering the incident with Sydesh and how she had learned of it second-hand after the Chief had departed with Commander Miller before the Chief spoke about going back to Bandar and what the outcome was. She felt some sympathy towards the Bandaran, yet thankful for what she had, because she might not have lived if it hadn't been for the Monarch. Or how different her life might have been if she had stayed on The Raven. Brought out of those thoughts, Ardanna was happy to hear that the Chief was glad to be back on Artemis, where she felt she belonged, and again that spoke to the brunette as Lucy then answered Hally's earlier question about geology and Ju told Mara how they should spend their next leave together.
Geology wasn't something Ardanna was interested in, but everyone had their different interests and so forth, so while Lucy spoke and offered up her own thoughts on a potential mission, Ardanna listened but also considered getting another drink. Ju also came up with a solution for everybody to have something to do on this hypothetical planet, which made the security officer smile. Ju then asked Lucy how she had gotten into Geology, while Hally answered Mara about her readiness to get back into the swing of things.
" I'm sure you'll be back flying her in no time", Ardanna said confidently, aware that orders were orders, and yet could see how much the pilot enjoyed doing what she loved. As for Ardanna, she was equally keen to get going again, to get back to normality after what had been such a fantastic leave, happy that she and Ollie had been given the time to become even closer, rather than carry on with the charade regarding their feelings for one another.
" I feel the same way, I'm definitely ready to get stuck in again".
