The rigid, uncompromising tension in Commander Ameen’s shoulders visibly dissolved the moment Captain Kincaid’s familiar face replaced the Templar’s transmission. A genuine, relieved smile broke through his stoic command mask.
Academy class mates... she was always sharp and competitive, but fair.
"Captain Kincaid. It is exceptionally good to see you, Valeriya," Ameen replied, the formal edge in his voice softening into genuine warmth. "And your timing, as always, is impeccable. I appreciate the cover."
Ameen stepped closer to the center console, his mind shifting from defense back to operational logistics. "The situation here is stable, but highly delicate. We have one subject currently active and pacified in our Sickbay, and eleven more still in stasis. Their biology and technology are incredibly complex. I will have my department heads transmit their preliminary findings to your teams immediately so you can match our environmental and containment protocols."
He tapped his comm badge, opening a ship-wide channel to coordinate the final phase of their mission.
"Ameen to Sickbay. Doctor O'Fee, Lieutenant Gath, the standoff is over. We are transferring custody of our guests to the USS Auberjonois. Doctor, compile your medical scans, the coagulant data, and the stasis pod power requirements. Transmit everything directly to Captain Kincaid's medical team so they can prep their medical bay."
He switched frequencies seamlessly. "Ameen to Science Labs. Lieutenant Ra'an, the Auberjonois will be taking custody of the Genomic Ark as well. Prepare a secure data handoff of your translated matrix and package the physical crystal for transport."
Finally, he turned to Torok Powl at the tactical station. "Lieutenant Powl, coordinate the physical transfer with the Auberjonois transporter chief. Ensure our EPS grid remains completely stabilized during the beam-out. No one leaves this ship until Captain Kincaid's team confirms they are perfectly matched to receive them."
Ameen looked back to the main viewer, giving Kincaid a respectful nod. "We will have the package ready for you shortly, Captain. Zephyr out."
