Morad smiled, a soft, fond look in his eyes as he watched her carefully navigate the spice.

"Well, any chef worth their salt would be flattered," he said, setting his piece of flatbread down and reaching across the table to gently catch her hand. He gave her fingers a soft squeeze. "And to answer your question... yes, it does. It tastes like family. It tastes like a kitchen that was always too small for everyone trying to move around in it."
He stood up smoothly and walked over to the compact kitchenette alcove. He picked up two steaming bowls of the shish barak, the rich aroma of the herb-infused dumplings floating in the silky garlic-yogurt broth filling the air, and brought them back to the table, setting one carefully in front of Amila.
"Alright, the true test," he said, taking his seat again and picking up his spoon. "Let's see how the replicator tech did with the broth. Tell me what you think."
