The Security Chief looked up at the viewscreen. The beauty of the system was a little lost on her - all she was seeing was hiding places and attack angles.
“All stations, before we push in too far, gi’ me a threat assessment please. Humour the paranoid Security officer.” She looked briefly at Sovar for his approval, tacit or otherwise, before continuing. “We got 5 planets, moons, celestial debris an’ plenty o’ places to hide. Federation ain’t done much lookin’ around here but tha’ don’t mean we’re the only possible players. If there was somethin’ we should be worried about, be it enemy or naturally occurrin’, where would it be?”
As she leaned forward in her borrowed FO’s chair, Mara was confident that most of the Bridge crew had already done some kind of assessment, but it wouldn’t hurt to hear it out loud.
Non-zero chance I just broke some unspoken rule an’ someone’s gonna make me look stupid. So be it, I’ll take th’ risk.
