Dropping from warp at the edge of the area, the Zephyr would detect the following:
In the system itself:
Starbase 214 with shields up.
9x Hideki-class Escorts in three groups of three, patrolling in a spherical pattern just beyond weapons range of the starbase in a manner that would allow them to respond to any incursion immediately.
Beyond the furthest boundary of the system:
3x Hideki-class Escorts, deployed in a wide triangular formation.
3x Keldon-class Battlecruisers, deployed in a smaller triangle within that created by the Escorts.
1x Hutet-class Dreadnought, slightly behind the formation but catching up at impulse velocities.
As the reports came in, the Yeager's transponder appeared between the larger formation and directly ahead of the Dreadnought. Energy surges in the immediate area suggested that weapons fire was being exchanged, and the other Cardassian vessels were adjusting their formation to surround the smaller ship.
