The static was worse this time, before her voice came back about five seconds later. [---so please, come to Nalim. We need your-] There was a sound like a crash, a deeper voice, indistinct with distance and the static. [No, please, don't tu--].
The message ended abruptly, the channel going dead. Fortunately, it was easy enough for someone to localize the transmission as coming from 285-U-2 II, the world in the habitable zone towards the inner system.
