Sebastian kept his attention on the tactical display as Captain Ameen laid out the plan. The micro-warp maneuver was risky, but given the Zephyr’s age and the situation they were facing, there was little value in pretending they had unlimited options.
His eyes shifted back to the science console, watching the Hutet’s shield telemetry scroll across the display.
"Understood, Captain. Keti and I will stay focused on the shield telemetry and look for the modulation changes when their secondary generators compensate."
He glanced toward Keti, then back to the display.
"We may be able to make the analysis a little more useful without trying to hack their systems. If we can correlate the shield frequency changes with the direction of incoming fire, we might be able to distinguish their normal cycling from the emergency compensation."
Sebastian paused, studying the telemetry.
"That could give us a cleaner picture of which frequencies they're using to reinforce the damaged sections. We can pass the information directly to Tactical as it develops rather than waiting for a complete solution."
He looked toward Captain Ameen.
"And if the first strike produces enough telemetry, we might be able to identify a usable pattern before the Hutet has time to change it."
Sebastian returned his attention to his console, settling back into his work.
"No guarantees, Captain, but it should give us something useful to work with while we wait for the opening."
