Ameen had been forming a a very deliberate and precise plan of action. The planning itself would take significantly more time to plan than it would to execute. The Zephyr was going to be head to head with a significantly larger force and grossly outgunned and outmanned. Their opponents looked to have an entire invasion force, and the Zephyr seemed to have the Yeager as an answer. There was excitement on the horizon with the arrival of the Inaieu and the Aquila. The Inaiue was an unfamiliar ship to Torok, but she was an older Sovereign class. One of the most capable vessel designs to come from Star Fleet. But the Aquila was commanded by an old colleague, Captain Brooks. Captain Brooks and Torok had served together for several years together aboard the Copernicus.
Good to have another familiar face.
"Captain, I am attempting to use a wide all possible arc simultaneous burst to the target. They will be used to target specific moments of possible vulnerability within their shields and the systems. The may make all of our quantum torpedoes to be more effective."
And the scales tilt a little to our favor. Although, the Federation battlegroup is still heavily outmatched, at least there were more frien....
Before Powl could finish the thought, Ameen was next to Powl as the data came spilling in as the dark space background erupted with with lights covering the full visible spectrum. Large thunderous concussive blasts that would have been deafening if they had been audible at this range. However, the telemetry that carried the same reports about how well the Sovereign class ship should be to handle situations that would ordinarily cripple others, now carried the grim news that the newly arrived Inaiue had been destroyed via an antimatter containment breach.
It was nearly time for Captain Ameen's plan to either succeed gleefully or...well that wasn't really much of another option.
When the critical moment was at hand, there was little to no instruction needed beyond a two simple words:
"Execute! Execute!"
Upon hearing that Torok began locking targets. The phasers were used in conjunction with the telemetry that was received from the Science stations.
Those targets started adding up quickly. Once Powl was satisfied with the preprogrammed phaser targets, all that was left was the targeting for burst quantum torpedoes.
"Target locked!" A shout came from tactical over the wailing klaxons. Powl had his last lock needed for his programmed deployment of ordnance. First the phasers would potentially create or find slightly weakened areas of the shields that may allow more of the destructive element to pierce the shields and hit directly in the hull. The concept was valid, but time would reveal whether or not that it would be practical.
Ameen commanded without hesitation. "Fire everything!"
Torok had the programmed fireworks already primed, and now he pressed down hard on his LCARS keyboard "execute."
The phasers and torpedoes fire with their rainbow of colors towards their intended targets in a magnificent display.
