“We’re going to sedate you for the rest of this procedure, just so you’re not accidentally causing more damage than is already there. The surgery will be over once you wake up again, and we’ll have you recover before we send you back to Chief Calleja.”
Ejid didn't try to nod this time, instead giving a simple "OK." He wasn't happy about it, clearly, but there wasn't anything to do except trust the Andorian doctor. Who looked really, really young now that he thought about it.
“Nurse Adhya, please start Ejid on Neurozine gas, but have Anesthezine on standby just in case.”
The nurse calmly repeated the order and administered the gas through a breathing mask. She gave the doctor a nod. He seemed nervous, but this was what he'd trained for.
“Alright. I’d like you to count down from ten, and get to one if you can.”
"Ten, nine, eight, potato..."
With that the patient was ready. Adhya moved in with a surgical clamp, stopping the blood flow temporarily. They'd only have minutes, but it honestly wasn't a concern. They wouldn't have a gusher, at least.
"The artery is clamped, Doctor. We're ready to go."
