== Current Timeline ==
Robin sat in the Doctor's lounge, sipping a cup of coffee that made her wince. The antique coffee machine, reputed to be older than human civilization and most certainly haunted, produced a foul brew that the doctors seemed to like. Or perhaps they only drank it because alcohol was off limits during a shift. Regardless the CMO needed somethings stronger than her usual super-sweet French vanilla standby from the replicator. She stifled a yawn. Her shift was almost over, and a warm bed and holonovel awaited her in her quarters.
So of course her combdge chirped. It was Mara. Robin had heard that the Security Chief had begun taking occasional Bridge shifts. It had been something the nurse had considered, but it had been put off. She was usually busy with Sickbay matters.
[Bridge to Mayfair. Artemis ‘as been signalled by the planet designated 285-U-2 II, an’ we’re makin’ best speed there now. They’ve requested urgent aid an’ said somethin’ ‘bout a drought before the message cut out. 2 things please. Do we ‘ave any medical information at all about the inhabitants of that planet? An’ can you take the lead on gettin’ a relief mission equipped. We may have to treat mass dehydration an’ malnourishment. How do we do that? I need your planet sized brain for that one. Call Engineerin’ an’ Support if you need to.]
Mara wasn't mocking her. She'd been a little on edge around the Chief since the incident in Sickbay, but Mara had never mocked her talent for running her department and she appreciated being treated as a professional. Not only was this a problem she could wrap her head around, the idea cleared her cobwebs better than the coffee.
She thought about it for a moment. The Artemis, like all Starfleet vessels, was equipped for disaster relief, and coordinating that was actually part of the CMO's job. She knew the disaster equipment carried by the starship down to the number of bandages. It would depend on the size of the relief needed, so she'd have to coordinate with Cera. Robin had never heard of any such planet, so they did have to hope that the natives didn't drink ammonia or any such thing, but most sentient life in the galaxy hollowed the standard carbon-based humanoid pattern.
She tapped her badge to open the reply channel. "Understood, Bridge. I'll see what I can find out for you, Commander. And we have two GR-77 water replicators in Cargo Bay 3, along with eight collapsible cisterns. Engineering can make more of both without too much effort. Plenty of emergency food rations in Cargo Six, and we can turn the replicators on the ship loose to make as many more as we can. I guess it'll depend on the needs of the planet, but I'll get my people organized so we're ready to go as soon as we arrive."
She tapped her badge again to switch channels. "Mayfair to all Medical personnel. Please report to your designated Sickbay and prepare for disaster relief. Your shift doctors will give you your assignments once we have more information. Lieutenants Rose and Soril, please report to Cargo Bay 3 and begin unpacking the emergency cisterns and getting them ready for transport. Take anyone you need to help. Don't fill 'em yet. We can replicate water into them before beaming them down. Just set them up."
She closed the channel and prepared for the flood of irritated medics who'd just had their downtime cut off. The purple-haired nurse stepped out of the lounge and over to the nearest console. "Computer, locate all records on planet 285-U-2 II. Priority any biological and medical information on the inhabitants as well as environmental information."
One last thing. This might be a big job, probably would be, and she would need help... someone to coordinate. Her first thought was her best friend Beka, of course, but honestly she needed the redhead coordinating her team. She tapped her badge again. "Mayfair to Tes Th’etellis. Doctor, please report to me in Main Sickbay."
