The initial attempt was, sadly, unsuccessful. The Cardassian crew were on alert, systems operating at maximum efficiency, so they were able to counter his first attempt. Later, when the crew were distracted and/or the Os'rusa had taken damage, a second attempt might succeed.

Thanks to her experiences with the Os'rusa, and previous scans taken from the Yeager's enhanced sensor suite, she was able to find a chink in the Cardassian Battlecruiser's shields. A seam running just along the dorsal hull, through which the Yeager's forward phasers punched. The Yeager's pylon-mounted Phaser Cannons seared holes in the hull while the arrays on the saucer carved through hull plating before the shields rotated and secondary generators took up the strain. Sensors indicated that though the damage to the sensors themselves was minor, the Os'rusa's hull was fully breached in three places.
As the Yeager closed, the Os'rusa moved onto a reciprocal course to the Yeager, putting the two ships head-to-head. The Yeager had the agility advantage and more advanced systems, but the Os'rusa had the upper hand when it came to firepower and sheer durability.
The deciding factor in the initial duel would be whichever ship flinched first.
