Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the lack of forward torpedo launchers, the Yeager didn't cause the catastrophic damage to the Os'rusa that would have turned the battle into an easy victory. In fact, all they appeared to have done was to attract the Os'rusa's attention and diverted it away from the Aquila, onto a collision course with the Yeager. In a head-on fight, the Yeager lost every time - she had an experienced crew who were creative and unpredictable, but the Keldon-class simply outmassed and outgunned her.
Yet here she was, on a head-on course with a ship twice her size, designed and built for conquest, while the Yeager had been designed by a madwoman from parts designed for science, exploration, and cargo hauling.
Still, the hard part about "playing chicken" was knowing when to flinch, and unlike the Os'rusa's crew, Jenny knew that her ship would be destroyed in a collision. Jenny also knew that with her overcharged engines and the required fuel pods to power them, the critical damage to her power plant caused by ramming the Os'rusa would cause a detonation that would also consume the Cardassian Battlecruiser - her shields would collapse, and underneath that, her hull was essentially still that of the Galor-class. The Yeager would die, but the Os'rusa would die with her.
"T'Lari, shields double-front, and keep up with the phasers. Steady on course, Flint. Plot any evasive manoeuvres in a cone that takes you no more than ten degrees off our current course, and then returns to it. I want them less worried about shooting at us, and more worried about us hitting them with our ship."
Glancing down at her console, she noted the failure of Qi's attempts to hack the Os'rusa. She also frowned as she saw the Zephyr breaking formation and making a bee-line towards the Starbase, seemingly unaware of the three squadrons of Hidekis between them.
"Arwen, keep trying. If you can't crack the Os'rusa, try one of the other ships that's more heavily engaged. Even the Dreadnought. Peter, hail the Zephyr; ask Ameen what the hell he thinks he's doing?"
