"We talk a lot about survival on this ship, about EPS conduits holding under pressure, hull seals keeping the vacuum at bay, and emergency jury-rigs buying us precious seconds against a ticking clock. But a ship like the Zephyr doesn't survive because of titanium bulkheads or thirty-year-old spaceframes. It survives because of the people sitting at these consoles, pushing past their limits when things go sideways."

"Effective immediately, it is my privilege to promote both of you to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Wear those pips with pride; you've more than earned every millimeter of them."
