"Yeah, don't think I could handle axe-throwing with my stringbean arms, but I wouldn't mind giving knife-throwing a shot. And of course I've gotta go to the Idol Zone later. How about you, Aeryn? Do you have a preference?"
"I don't, but I think knife throwing would be a lot of fun, it's been a while since I've done anything like that."
“Knife throwing it is then. Not going to lie, I didn’t expect us to end up there,” Beka replied with a wry smile. “I did get shown how to do it years ago. Let’s see how much I remember. Hopefully enough not to need the medkit I squirrelled away in this jacket.”
She reached out and picked up one of the plastic pint cups stacked up near the taps that hung over the bar, and scanned the labels until she found what looked like a safe soft drink and poured herself out a measure.
“I think I know what I’m singing when we hit the Idol Zone later,” she added. “It’s a bit spicy but hey. It’s me. That halo slipped a very long time.” The redhead grinned before taking a sip of her drink.
Once the others had had a chance to get something to drink, and in Robin’s case something else to eat, the three made their way over to the Insecure Male Zone. It was the only zone with a healthy presence of uniformed crew on duty, to keep partygoers safe from each other and themselves.
Beka stopped at the first empty range. It had sets of 3 throwing axes and knives, and a range with a target sat at the far end.
“OK, who’s throwing first?” she asked. “I volunteer Aeryn. Because I want to know how she plans to make it interesting.”
The grin was very much still present on the doctor’s lips as she picked up one of the knives. The blade flashed under the lights as she started to twirl it between her fingers, something she’d done a thousand times before with an exoscalpel as a dexterity exercise before surgery.
