== Nah, it's cool. Glad you did. ==
Robin, having mercilessly destroyed a plate of defenseless cookies, was looking for something a little more substantial as the trio headed over to the Insecure Male Zone. There was a platter of finger sandwiches and the perpetually-hungry young nurse grabbed a few of them along with a sweet tea (making sure it wasn't of the "Long Island Iced" variety) to go with it. Expertly-prepared mini turkey clubs, perfect. She didn't want to stuff her face the whole night (well, she did) and decided to get the eating out of the way early.
“I think I know what I’m singing when we hit the Idol Zone later,” Beka said with a grin. “It’s a bit spicy but hey. It’s me. That halo slipped a very long time.” Robin laughed at that. She'd never heard her friend sing, and couldn't imagine the doctor singing anything that wasn't spicy anyway.
"Can't wait!" she said around her last mouthful of sandwich. With the food vanquished she dropped her plate in a garbage can. The three reached the knife/axe range.
“OK, who’s throwing first?” Beka asked. “I volunteer Aeryn. Because I want to know how she plans to make it interesting.”
"Yeah!" Robin said with a broad smile. "Show us how it's done, Aeryn! If you accidentally hit anyone you've got two medics with you," she kidded her friend. She watched Beka twirl a knife between her fingers like the expert surgeon she was. Robin herself had never done that, though at one point at the Academy a rather obnoxious medical student had challenged her to twirl a scalpel. The nurse instead ended up getting some experience in with the dermal regenerator when he'd tried it himself. She'd resented his attitude, acting like the purple-haired Augment was some sort of circus performer there for his amusement.
Robin picked up a knife, felt its weight and balance, then put it back down for Aeryn. She wondered if knife-throwing was part of Security combat training.
