"Okay, okay, I can see that I have no choice in the matter" Aeryn teased. "As for how to make it interesting, well I thought we could make a game out of it, first one who gets all three knives near or in the middle of the bullseye wins."
Robin agreed as the Security chief took her first throw. It was close, right above the center. Robin picked up a knife and attempted to imitate Aeryn's throwing style, tossing it at the target.
It hit nearly center, which would have been impressive for a first throw if she hadn't hit the target with the handle. The knife bounced off, dropped to the deck with a small clang, and spun for a few moments. Robin laughed uproariously, then retrieved her blade.
Hey, despite the bad holostories we Augments aren't automatically better at everything.
And it was true, at least to a point. If she practiced for a while her enhanced hand-eye coordination and learning speed would probably allow her to hit the bullseye every time, just as she did when playing darts, but she was genuinely enjoying the challenge. She usually didn't like to play dexterity games with people because she felt like a cheat.
"Hey, at least I didn't hit anyone!" she said with a wide grin, then stepped aside for Beka. "You're up, Doc. Imagine there's a face in the bullseye. I'll bet you can think of a few." Robin was already feeling better, the weight of recent events slipping away and allowing her to just enjoy the party and being with her friends.
