Aeryn was as sure as she would be, although her plan would be subject to change, depending on what they found on Deck 8. Considering the emergency that they were now facing, Aeryn wasn't so concrete in formulating a plan that would carry them through to the end, preferring to adapt where necessary, because ultimately this was about ensuring that her team survived and that they got the ship back, from whoever or whatever had dared to attack them. When Robin then asked if her and Calleja should follow them to Engineering, once her patient was in Sickbay, Aeryn knew what the answer would be. In fact, it was something that she had factored in while making her decision.
" Yes" she replied, knowing that those in Sickbay would be able to take good care of the Crewman, allowing Robin to accompany the team, because she wasn't going to go into this without a medic. The response from Galani spurred Aeryn on towards the lift, with focus and intent shining like a beacon within her mind, especially with how eerie everything was. The last thing the security chief wanted was to let the shadows play tricks on her, or let her imagination run too far ahead, with the lack of crew present. She could only help so many at one time, and yet that didn't completely stop her from sending a silent prayer that those who should be there from Support and Engineering would be kept safe until she finished helping Galani.
There was, however, some good news, since the group hadn't engaged any intruders, as the lift doors opened to reveal the empty car waiting for them. Once inside, Aeryn allowed herself a few moments of silent solitude and contemplation, giving her the time to put her emotions in check. A ritual that was sorely needed at this point, because when the doors opened again, to reveal what awaited them on Deck 8, Aeryn knew what she had to do. The sound of weapons fire being exchanged, the faint screams coming from both directions in the darkness, coupled with the ship shaking and the faint lingering smell of burnt flesh, clung to Aeryn as she was forced to make a much tougher decision.
She couldn't send Calleja, Robin and the injured Engineer into that, and as for those in trouble, she could only come back when they were better equipped to offer assistance or if she could somehow muster up extra numbers to help. It was with a solemn heart that Aeryn addressed those with her. " We're all going to Engineering, there's nothing that we can do here, at least without more people and equipment" she began. " As for our injured friend, Robin do what you can to make him comfortable, as we'll need to find a safe space for him, until we get the ship back".
