Lucy tried to figure how far wide of the mark she’d gone. Emily hadn’t responded to her query. There was the likelihood that Lucy wasn’t Emily’s type. Lucy did really care much about the mistletoe. Some traditions made no sense to her. She was only interested in a kiss and if it led to getting to know each other deeper.
The best pickup line in the galaxy would have no effect if the interest or attraction wasn’t there. In Lucy’s case it had been curiosity followed by chemistry. She wanted to find that chemistry again. She felt she was ready to try again. She needed to shed whatever was weighing her down. A few songs in the Idol Zone might be just what she needed. She slid off her stool and looked to Emily.
“Come find me if you change your mind.”
Lucy looked from the Idol Zone to Emily before heading towards the zone. Whatever she was feeling wasn’t logical. It was a something. Empathy of a human sort mixed with a little affection. It was hard to quantify. Lucy scanned through the songs trying to find on that struck a chord. Some felt a little too near the bone or just more emotionally raw than she was ready to feel.
She landed on one that raised a smile. She wasn’t that into shirts, but they could be versatile. She hadn’t been one for short skirts, but she did have the legs. Maybe another time. She entered her selection and stepped into the booth. Listening to the opening chords she started singing along with the words. It did feel good to let her hair down.
"Let’s go girls
C’mon
"I’m goin’ out tonight, I’m feelin’ alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise, really raise my voice
Yeah, I wanna scream and shout, uh
"No inhibitions, make no conditions
Get a little outta line
I ain’t gonna act politically correct
I only wanna have a good time
"The best thing about bein’ a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun and
"Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy, forget I’m a lady
Men’s shirts, short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin’ it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction
Color my hair, do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free, yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man, I feel like a woman (hey!)
"The girls need a break, tonight we’re gonna take
The chance to get out on the town
We don’t need romance, we only wanna dance
We’re gonna let our hair hang down
"The best thing about bein’ a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun and
"Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy, forget I’m a lady
Men’s shirts, short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin’ it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction
Color my hair, do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free, yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man, I feel like a woman
Uh, huh
"Oh, yeah
The best thing about bein’ a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun, fun, fun
"Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy, forget I’m a lady
Men’s shirts, short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin’ it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction
Color my hair, do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free yeah, to feel the way I feel
(The way I feel)
Man, I feel like a woman
"Hey!
Oh, oh, yeah, yeah
Act totally crazy
Can you feel it?
Come, come, come on baby
I feel like a woman"
Okay, what’s next?
