Eun Ju was all ready to hear about whatever Hug Gate was, surely, with the looks on the faces of those around them it was about to be good. Ju couldn’t help but want to hear all the dirt on the Commander. They were still very much getting to know each other but she didn’t have a lot of fun Starfleet stories to tell at the moment because she was a fresh graduate. Of course, she knew that was going to this party was putting a large magnifying glass on the both of them and what they may or may not be. Good thing was; even Han Eun Ju didn’t know. She also was in no hurry to find out. What evolved would evolve on it’s own and she wasn’t the kind that was going to force it or push it.
Someone came out of the crowd and leaned in whispering quickly to the Captain and her Commander. No, Ju, not yours, just the.. Commander. she reprimanded herself. They two turned away, and Tall, Dark, and Commanding, shot her an apologetic look as he headed off with the Captain. Ju tried to shoot him a reassuring look, everyone here seemed pretty friendly so far, so she didn’t feel as though she had been abandoned. Hopefully, he would be back at some point but she also understood the Starfleet life. Whomever she dated would be busy often and the problems with dating a superior officer is she wasn’t privy to the information of what he was doing.
Ju was okay with all of this, she was self secure enough not to need someone at her side all the time. Seeking out his attention and companionship would be nice when their ship schedules aligned, but she wasn’t clingy.
Mara said something about the life of Starfleet bringing Ju’s eyes back to her and a smile on her face. “It’s never ending, that’s for sure. I have two brothers that struggle with my schedule because they think I should be available for video calls all the time,” she chuckled with a smirk.
The officer began to fill her in on Hug Gate and exactly how it happened. How cliché it was for some woman to turn on the water works in an effort to not get in trouble. Ju listened to the story as she spoke about how Damian had decided not to bother with any of this mess and shot both his officer and the enemy they were trying to obtain. Ju’s eyes widened as he shot a friendly, but she also knew he probably was ready to end the ridiculous mission and it was a good way to end it while they were both occupied.
“Wow. He just.. shot them both!?” Ju couldn’t help but chuckle. “I somehow imagine that. He’s just too tired to deal with crying women so he just shot her.”
Ju was still learning a lot about Damian, but she assumed he was not the one to cry to during a bad day. Ju had been raised by a very tough Grandmother and crying had not been encouraged as she grew up. Thus, if she was crying, it was usually pretty bad or a broken heart. Ju, at her heart, was a romantic. A slight silence fell between the two officers with the story now told in it’s most basic form.
It was time to change the subject, she didn’t want to talk about Damian all night. Well… she did, but she didn’t think that was going to make her any friends, or be a good idea for the rest of the night. Especially, since he wasn’t there to embarrass now.
“The Artemis is a massive ship, I’m kind of jealous. I’ve been assigned to the Philly, and I hear it’s a tiny ship.” She sighed with a bit of disappointment. “I hope it’s like this though, everyone here is so lively and welcoming. I don’t feel out of place as much as I thought I would.”
Ju smiled at the woman who was still giving her attention. “How long have you been assigned here?”
