Beka felt reassured listening to Aeryn. The new CSO seemed to have it all planned out. How she’d fit into her new department, where her future lay, and how to keep her girlfriend from getting murdered by the Omega level threat that was stalking the gym.
That last one is definitely important!
"We can definitely pretend that we have champagne, as I've been promoted to Lieutenant Commander."
“Oh?” Beka sat up. “That’s definitely worth a drink! Now we have 2 Commanders on the crew and they’re both being called crazy for their choice in partners!” She grinned, and the smile was genuine - she was really pleased for the other redhead.
“That’s got to be worth a reward. What can we do?” the doctor asked. “What do you really like doing, Commander Miller?”
The grin was only getting bigger as Beka playfully nudged Aeryn in the ribs.
