In the weeks since she had transferred departments and received her additional promotion, Aeryn had made the most of her leave. When she wasn't spending time with Beka fortifying and making their relationship even stronger or with her friends, the CSO was either in the gym (old habits never really went away) or working on the project she had started with Lucy. The results so far had been promising, but this hadn't been done with the intention of it being temporary, but rather a long-term thing, and not just growing hybrid tomatoes.
Her plans might be ambitious but Aeryn was determined to see them through, especially with how the transition to Science hadn't been as scary as she first believed. Her passion and excitement over rediscovering her spark for experiments and the buzz of the science lab were reflected in Aeryn's outward personality, while the demons from the last mission were firmly under control.
Occasionally she was reminded of Callisto and everything that transpired in her dreams when they became more like nightmares, but overall she was coping a lot better than she had thought. That being said, the message from Cera informing the redhead of the briefing to be held the evening before the launch didn't come with the usual anticipation of what they might be facing. Although Aeryn hoped that would change, then again, who could blame anyone for feeling that way following the fallout from their escape from Cardassian space?
Crawford had left, and rumours were circulating about who their new CO might be, although Aeryn's latinum had been on Coleman as Acting CO. So, entering the briefing room, came with a little trepidation of what to expect before Aeryn cast a glance to see who was already present.
" Hi Lieutenant, Commander," she said in greeting to Miles and Robin, deciding to forego her usual informality for the moment, considering that they didn't know who they were dealing with just yet.
