It seemed everyone was arriving, and conversations were starting to wrap up. Miles had noted two people entering the room that he did not recognize, at least not in person. One was a Commander in the Engineering Gold. The other wore Crimson of Command, with the four pips denoting Captain. Without the need to be told, Miles knew this person would be the Commanding Officer of the Artemis for the foreseeable future.
As others made their way to their seats and threw glances at the Captain's way, Miles had also taken his seat, but looked directly at her, prepared for when she would inevitably bring the meeting to a start. He didn't miss, though chose to ignore, Lieutenant Sydesh's comment about "when the boss gets here".
The Captain did begin in due course, introducing herself as Givens, and then going over the why she was present before opening the door to questions. The first of which was fielded by Calleja, who was surprisingly reserved from what Miles knew of the Bandaran during their time serving together. Maybe it was her new position. Maybe it was a matter of feeling the need to walk on eggshells with the person who had presided over at least part of the investigation that lead to the absences of Captain Crawford and Commander Elias.
Calleja did ask if there was any information the crew could be provided regarding an update on the two wayward Officers, of which Givens was fairly open about, while in agreement to how awkward the situation was presenting itself. The unknown of whether or not either would be returning was definitely not lost, though it did seem like the chances were slim. After the answer, there was an opening, which Miles decided to field his question.
"Do you have any plans to implement changes to how our normal duties and positions are fulfilled, such as rotations or personnel changes?" Miles asked. Though it was a pretty common question in regards to when new leadership took place, as everyone had their own style and what worked best with them, there was an underlying question that Miles did not voice out loud: is anyone else being replaced?"
