Carol continued to stay quiet, her mind wondering where they were headed to next without Crawford or Elias. She wasn't entirely ready to accept someone new in Tyra's place, but she didn't have any way to fight it. As their supposed new captain explained there wree some individuals who thought the crew had been corrupted from the top down, Carol gritted her teeth. She worked to keep her face neutral. She wasn't as skilled as some, but she could fake it for a little anyway. Her hands were in her lap, now in a tight fist. Then Givens went on to explain she would make changes if people do dumb ****.
Well that won't take long. Carol felt her eyes start to roll upwards, though she caught them and quickly closed her eyes. She took a few breaths while her eyes were closed, trying to keep from being the first one disciplined by their new chief.
****
She kept her eyes shut until she heard something slide on the table. When she opened her eyes, she saw small boxes in front of people... that is, except two. She felt her right eyebrow raise as she was curious why they didn't... and why she, or anyone, would be getting one.
What the ****? We're getting ******* medals while two of our crew are getting **** on?
Carol felt hot and really wanted to leave. She had no business being in this room, receiving some stupid award. She knew she probably wasn't faking it well now, but just continued to clamp her mouth shut. There was nothing she could say that wouldn't end her *** in the brig... or worse. Her eyes roamed the room, stalling on their first officer. Her eyes wanting to talk to him, though he was busy continuing awards for the lone two.
Is this really happening? Wait... It's got to be a ******* test. Tyra was always good at trying to test us to see if we were ready. Who the hell is this Givens person anyway? **** **** **** Where's the damn cameras? Please let there be a test... I don't even care if I fail it...
