While she had to remember that these items weren't real, it wasn't difficult to get caught up in the excitement of an old-fashioned auction, especially with the range on offer. As tempting as the jewelry was, with all the sparkle and different coloured gems, Lina couldn't help but follow her bond-mate's lead, as Miles was almost instinctively drawn to the weaponry. Ancient weapons were an interest that the pair shared, and they had even started a collection of them, thanks to their trip to Lina's hometown.

Of course, they could always replicate the shield that had captured Miles' interest, but it wouldn't be the same as Miles admired the intricately detailed piece. Lina was familiar with Latin upon seeing the inscription but wouldn't call herself an expert before the inscription was transcribed for them by an older Italian gentleman. The translation seemed to resonate with the brunette, as the introductions were then made, and Miles introduced Lina as his fiancée.

She understood why he had chosen that word, but there was just something about it being said that way that brought a pleasant smile to Lina's face. " Pleased to meet you both, and I can see the fascination with such things. Miles and I share a love of history and collecting antique weapons".

Lina didn't think it would hurt to share that tidbit about them, considering this was all part of the game, and it was also a way to gather any relevant clues.
