Lucy tried to take the Captain’s response as it was intended. The crew was on duty, so processing the consequences of the last mission were something for off-duty. Their current mission had a lot of moving parts and they hadn’t left Deep Space Nine, yet. From Tyra’s perspective it looked like a lot of immaturity and a lack of stoic professionalism from Lucy. Also the mention of alcohol probably reminded her of the previous Chief Engineer.
“Understood, Captain Crawford.”
I really need to stop thinking out loud. Wrong time and definitely wrong place.
There was a small core of resentment, but Lucy knew her own reasoning processes weren’t perfect. There was no point in speaking her mind as all it seemed to do was get her shouted at. A formal meeting wasn’t the place for whatever was going on in her head. Starfleet was a serious place where you should think before you acted and do as you were told. Something was wrong and maybe she’d been chasing the wrong…
Gotta see where this one ends and then decide if I’m doing this for the right reasons.
