Aeryn might not have asked any questions, but the CSO wanted to read through all of the available data as soon as she could, before meeting with Omdor and his engineers. The CE then replied to her suggestion, and Aeryn offered Omdor a smile, understanding exactly where he was coming from, and she appreciated that there would be someone available if he couldn't be present. She also was hopeful that they could get access to the schematics sooner rather than later, as it would be equally beneficial when forming a plan of action.
" Thank you, I look forward to working with your team".
It was Mara who spoke next, with some questions of her own, and Aeryn couldn't help but fall back on her security background, more out of habit than anything, as Damian responded and brought up the recent scan information, before highlighting the gaps in the nebula where it would be easy to hide from prying eyes. That spoke to her from both sides of the proverbial coin, as she committed that information to memory, along with what had already been provided.
There was nothing quite like a bit of light reading before bed, although knowing Aeryn she would likely write down some ideas at the same time, as Mara replied, and began to shape what she intended to do from a security standpoint. But then for some unknown reason, Lucy decided to bring up the idea of a drinking game, which immediately irked her DH. Not only did it have no relevance to the discussion, but she couldn't fathom what had possessed the scientist to suggest it. A pre-mission icebreaker was something you did on shore-leave if so inclined, and Aeryn had to stop herself from rolling her eyes or knocking Lucy down a peg or two.
No, this would be dealt with once the briefing was over, and Aeryn would have no issue giving her a dressing down, as well as a reminder of how she expected her officers to act appropriately.
Captain Crawford had enough at this point, and when she spoke, you listened and Aeryn could feel the embarrassment welling up inside of her, for she might not have been directly involved, but that didn't matter. Lucy managed to respond, however, the words had barely started to form on Aeryn's lips when the door opened and Fleet Security walked in. Four of them, to be exact, and Aeryn looked at them, to the Captains, and then finally at Damian.
Her friend and mentor, the man who had quite literally saved her from walking away, was being arrested, and the charges left her shaken and speechless. None of it seemed to make sense in her head because surely this wasn't right. They had to be making a mistake as her throat tightened with emotion, and her stomach sank in disbelief.
Then she thought of Ju, and all those who respected the FO as the redhead pinched herself to make sure that this wasn't a nightmare, yet the pain was meaningless, waiting for someone to tell these people that they had gotten the wrong man.
