Robin didn't have any questions, at least that needed to be asked to the two captains. She could look up the information herself, later.
Just want to make sure there are no odd radiations we need to be prepared for in the nebula. Unlikely since the Maquis used it, but it's best to take nothing for granted.
At least things were getting back to a middling level of professionalism. Mara asked a few good questions which Coleman only had limited answers for, but the nurse was relieved to get back to business. It lasted exactly 124 seconds. Lucy brought things to a grinding halt.
“I don’t have a question. More a highly indavisable suggestion. If I’m remembering correctly Ensign Han knows a drinking game involving soju and candy. If there’s time and if Lieutenant Commander Mayfair is willing to provide medical assistance after the event, we could get through a few rounds. Kind of a pre-mission icebreaker, something to clear the air, and an opportunity for bragging rights. If there is an agreement.”
Robin was speechless. She just glared at the science officer.
Are you kidding me? I have been working since 0500. The bags under my eyes have bags under their eyes. I have to get up early enough to make sure my team is ready for launch tomorrow morning... and you want me to help out in a DRINKING GAME? And the night before launch?
She restrained herself from saying anything rude or dressing down the redhead. "I am not willing." Her words were soft, filled with fatigue and exasperation.
Crawford had had enough and lit into everyone. The CMO said nothing. If anything she felt grateful, but otherwise she felt dead inside, like she just had nothing left. She recognized the symptoms of exhaustion. Working a lengthy shift was nothing new, but there were limits and her enhancements didn't include endurance. She needed to sleep just as much as anyone. But maybe they could wrap this up soon.
No. Of course they couldn't. The Caitian entered the room with a small security detail, all business.
What now?
The security officer placed Coleman under arrest, reading out a list of charges in front of the whole command crew that included conspiracy to commit murder and attempts to cover up the crime. Robin was beyond shocked. Damian was was one of the most straight-laced and upright people she had ever known. The idea that he would be involved in any of those crimes was beyond ridiculous in her eyes.
Stunned, she could only wait and see what happened next.
