== It's all good, I like what you've done :-) ==
It was advantageous that Lina and Miles were given further insight into the players currently bidding for the vase, not to mention the other important people in the room. Their new acquaintances were very knowledgeable and quietly observed those they had been told about, taking in all the information and processing it as the bidding for the vase ended. The auctioneer then moved on to the next item, particularly a shield of Roman origin, which naturally piqued the brunette's interest, as weaponry in all forms never failed to do so.
Its rarity notwithstanding, Lina watched keenly as Nico started a bidding war, the quick responses telling her a story, specifically about the shield's apparent popularity. On it went, and the security expert wasn't sure who was going to become the shield's new owner until Nico put in the final bid. Or so Lina thought, as everything fell silent before the eldest Valentine put in a surprise bid that had taken everyone by surprise. Lina also noted the non-verbal exchanges between Broderick and Nico that led to Nico leaving the auction without his sister.
Sophia was quick to explain and assured them that Nico would be fine once he had cooled down. However, before Lina could say anything or pay attention to the next auction item, the power went off, plunging the occupants into darkness. Instinct took over, as panic spread throughout, especially when someone or something broke a glass. Miles took action, and when the power returned, Lina reassured her bondmate that she was okay, following behind him to assist.
The minor injuries were one thing, but now they had a potential murder on their hands, and judging by what she was seeing, evidence pointed to one obvious suspect. Lina knew she couldn't rule out the other Valentine siblings or anyone who had wanted the shield, yet the priority was finding Nico and beginning an investigation.
" We need to find Nico," she said quietly to Miles, knowing she didn't have to say anything else.
