Thorn continued working furiously and a few mumbled curses could be heard from her as she worked, "Kurasa, I don't think there IS a safe area left that we can get to in time. Try having them set up the enhancers in the room we beamed into. I don't know if I can finish this in time or not, but where I'm at might be the safest place on what remains of this ship right now. The energy is going to be emitted from this device, so it is likely to be one of the few things that survive, if it goes off."
In her working in the tight space, all that was still visible of Thorn was the lower half of her legs. She was also rather wedged into her confined space. If she had any more of a suit, she would not have been able to force her way in as far as she was. It was getting noisier and warmer though. There was a hint of static creeping into her comms and although Kalli wasn't going to say it out loud, that worried her a great deal. Her pulse was beginning to pick up a bit, but she forced herself to focus on the task at hand. She had not lied. She was pretty sure that if another detonation went off, the rest of this ship, or at least this part of it, was going to simply be added to the debris field. if they didn't stop it or get out of there in time, then they were likely to be debris as well. She had seen what happened to people too close to such energy bursts. Those that were not completely vaporized were torn to shreds by the shock wave. The only consolation she could think of was that if she was going to die, it would be quick and painless.

Cindy had been doing her best to analyze the contraption and determine if there was anything useful that she could add to the efforts. As the energy was beginning to build again, she focused her scans on exactly where it was building and see if she could determine the point it would discharge and the direction it would take. She had also determined that it was very unlikely that they would survive if it went off and they were still here, but if there was going to be a blast directed in a specific direction, she might be able to find a way to get the team safe enough behind it and not in front of it.
There was also another possible course of action, "Commander Kurasa, if we can find an area open to space, we can try to escape through it and maybe get enough distance from the energy field that is building. The ship might then be able to re-acquire a lock on the team. If a decompression doesn't propel us into space, we can push people away from the ship."
