==Cdr Jolann==
Walking onto the bridge from the Deck 2 hallway, Jolann had to catch himself lest he start grumbling in front of the bridge crew. He had intended to be in position before they dropped from warp; unfortunately, time had gotten away from him and the first he knew of it was when he felt the warp engines stop thrumming below his feet in his office.
He navigated the room and took his place, nodding at Captain Givens as he did so before turning to Captain Crawford. "Apologies, ma'am," he said, his low voice almost growling. "I must have been engrossed in last mission's efficiency reports."
He listened as Science and the helm both checked in, and Crawford gave some efficient orders. "According to our brief," he said as he pulled up the relevant section on his padd, "we should be deploying the probes every quarter of a light-year for maximum coverage." The document also specified that the nebula was nearly three light years across in any direction, which meant that their paltry five probes wouldn't even get them to the heart of the nebula, but then they weren't there to finalize deployment but only to see if it would work.

There were no additional blind spots other than the nebula itself. Everything was clear on sensors and ready to proceed with the captain's plans.
==Omdor==
The ship was as prepared as it was possible to be. Sensors would be degraded in the nebula - hence their probe deployment experiment - and shields would be at reduced power, approximately 80% of normal. Engines would be normal, and weapons should be unaffected, though targeting could potentially have an issue at longer ranges.
