== Still waiting on input... ==
As Mala began trying to hand out tags, Cindy took one, activated it and tucked it into a pocket, but said over her shoulder to Carley, "I'm actually the very last person you need to worry about on this mission, but I appreciate the sentiment."
Cindy glanced to Kurasa, following her question about Alex's message, "He indicated that this room over here was not showing evidence of the energy field. We're hoping that it is perhaps somehow shielded from the energy the device is putting out. It might allow us to get you all out of here safely."
With a little sigh of frustration, she added, "I would have completely understood if they had sent me in here to investigate, but I think the risk was far too great to send people in here like this."
Thorn was next to Cindy now and commented, "I know what you mean. I've been trying hard to bring the drone program up to a level where people might feel confident enough in it to make more use of it in situations like this. We came in here without even having a secondary extraction route."
Cindy gave a grin, "Look at you, sounding like a seasoned tactician. You're not wrong though. I thought it inappropriate for me to bring it up at the time, but that does us little good now. I promise that if we all get blown to bits, I'll have serious words on your behalf, for the Captain, in my After Action Report."
Kalli gave a tiny huff and rolled her eyes, "Somehow I don't find that comforting. You really need to work on your bedside manner."
Cindy's grin widened, "Really? I thought the small attempt at humor might help a little. I'll have to review my program subroutine on that."
That made Kalli actually give a tiny chuckle, "Okay. That was better."
Cindy simply gave Kalli a wink and returned to her scans.
