As the team was huddled together and they began to see and feel the transporter process begin, they initially began to breathe a sigh of relief...until it didn't work. Thorn fought back an edge of panic that was threatening to creep into her thoughts. Her pulse quickened even more than before. Pulling out her tricorder, she was cursing to herself, unaware that it was coming across the comms. Had the situation not been so serious, the creative combination of unconventional expletives might have been rather humorous.
Thorn was doing everything she could think of to create an open path for the sensor signal to remain complete long enough for them to escape. At the same time, Cindy was realizing the same thing. The ship had a lock, but the energy building up was also getting stronger and stronger. She did what little she could tot ry and augment the strength of her own signal that was linked to the ship already. It was unconventional, but there might be a small advantage to her being networked to the ship's subspace systems to deliver her sensor data and mission recordings. Neither of them knew if their efforts would help or not, but all were relieved when they finally vanished from the derelict Cardassian ship.
