== Once the dust has settled a bit from the mission... ==
Alex and Cindy entered the empty lab and the lights came up from a relatively dim default setting to normal operational lighting within the area immediately surrounding them. Cindy had changed out of her gear from the deployment and was wearing a version of what would be considered to be an appropriate uniform for a Science Officer, though it was of a more ruggedly designed material and would function as a form fitting flight suit. She wore a comm badge (as she had been instructed), but no rank.
No sooner had they walked in and with a wave of her hand, Cindy brought up an initiated program that was already accessing the data they had compiled. It was being displayed on a floating holographic screen and Alex crossed his arms as he concentrated his attention on the rapidly scrolling raw data.
Cindy paused the scrolling and pointed to some numbers, "You see here, the energy pattern shifts and begins to increase."
Alex gave a nod, "Give me a small scale representation in wire frame with half shading for object resolution."
The screen vanished and a model appeared in place of it. It was sensor readings and recordings of the inside of the Cardassian ship and showed vague outlines of the Away Team and where they were standing at the time of the recording. Cindy began briefing him on the events that followed, including her own interpretations of the mission as she went. Alex stopped the recording and zoomed in, pointing out certain components indicating increased activity and power use, yet they were unsure what power source was being used.
Alex speculated, "It has to have some form of internal power generation that is tied into that unidentified signature."
Cindy hesitated, but then added, "Well, it could be something similar to what you use for..."
Alex held up a finger, "Let's not get into that for now. I saw no signs of the sort of equipment I employ for that, but we can't rule out some variant of it, you're right. Frankly, I don't think the Cardassians are that smart, but they are crazy. I find it much more likely that they are using something dangerously unstable as a compact and self contained generator. If we define this energy pattern, we'll likely solve the rest shortly after."
Cindy nodded in agreement, "I agree, but so far my simulations are not producing a match to the signature. I'll keep trying though."
