Coming into the Science labs, there were a few activities that he wanted to do. One of them was to calibrate some of the more sensitive equipment, the better the calibration the better the results. He wasn't sure if the recent events have caused any difference, still it was worth checking it out. The fact that there were two other people in the room didn't make much of a difference to him as he started his calibrations, a process that would take a while.
He went over and joined the small gathering to let his department head know what was going on, the calibrations should only take thirty minutes at most. "Commander." He said in his usual dry Vulcan voice, and waited for a response to him. "Calibrations of our more sensitive equipment has started, I would estimate the conclusion in thirty minutes." Most humans thought of the seconds to be a waste of time and breath.
"Standing orders left by the previous Chief of Science requires such activities that would throw off alignment, or in three more days as scheduled maintenance as needed." Redirecting his attention to the new Officer. "Welcome to the Aquila Science Department, I am Slav." He said as a welcoming gesture. There really wasn't much to do at this minute, so there was more in the terms of free time.
