Whitby sighed, though she was really more annoyed than anything. She had signed up as a Starfleet engineer to see strange new worlds and fix things that were broken on beautiful starships.
And yet, the crew from Deep Space Nine appeared to have done their job too well - there was nothing to fix.
Sure, that wasn't a bad thing. She still had plenty of things to take care of - readings to take, systems to calibrate, inventories to do - but she wanted to actually do the work that a Starfleet engineer was supposed to do. She leaned back in her chair, the jet black hair falling over her eyes as she moved - she still wasn't used to the color as of yet.
However, she finally saw what she had been hoping for - a problem with one of the EPS junctions. It wasn't causing a problem - there were plenty of ways for power to reroute - but it was something to do. She jumped up and grabbed her kit. However, because regs forbade engineers from working on high-voltage equipment alone, she just needed a partner.
