Captain Braggins issued the order to ready weapons. T'Lari was prepared to fire the moment the word was given. As she waited she considered the back-and-forth between Captain Braggins and the mysterious Cardassian woman.
Undoubtedly Obsidian Order. Is Gul Hanar even in command of his ship anymore? It is odd that she was the one who contacted us. If he is not perhaps we could use that. A secret police officer or spy is unlikely to be experienced in commanding a starship during battle. Getting inside her OODA loop may be easier than it would be for the Gul.
She addressed her commanding officers. "Could we use a modified Picard Maneuver? Come out of the atmosphere, perform a fast pivot using thrusters, and then drive straight at the Os'rusa at high warp to put us into a more advantageous position? Attack from below, perhaps?"
T'Lari knew that the Cardassian vessel was a tank; most were. It fit their design philosophy of direct and brutal confrontation. The ship outgunned the Yeager and was apparently faster, at least outside slipstream. But it was likely that the Yeager was much more maneuverable. If the new ship could stay out of the primary forward weapons arc of the Os'rusa while deploying its own considerable firepower they might be able to do serious damage before the Cardassians could react, especially if the Gul wasn't in command. Escape was still preferable, but if it came to a fight she wanted to every advantage they could get.
