Rockin' around the Promenade
#1
It was the time of year when, on Earth, much of the planet celebrated one or more of the many holidays such as Christmas, Hannukah, Yule, and Kwanzaa. The crew on Deep Space had embraced the season and turned the Promenade into a walking wonderland of Christmas trees, lights, carols, and garland that included fresh flowers from the Bajoran market sprinkled among the poinsettias and peace lilies. Many of the vendors had been learning out to make traditional holiday snacks like roasted nuts, hot chocolate, and spiced cider in anticipation of the month long celebration.

Today several Starfleet ships were anticipated to dock at Deep Space Nine, and the staff at Quark's had gone above and beyond to attract Starfleet customers to their business. The dabo girls were clad in red and green costumes, and many of the wait staff were wearing Santa hats. Mistletoe hung in in some not so discreet locations, a dance floor had been cleared, and live bands and other entertainers were scheduled for the evenings on the hour.

For one low price, customers could enjoy a large buffet of delights. Extra research had gone into learning the traditional foods of the December holidays of Earth for the buffet, supplemented with Bajoran cuisine to support local farmers, of course. For a small fee unlimited drinks could be added to the buffet package.
