Jaein sat on the bridge, watching the crew work smoothly. He felt a little like he was extraneous to events, but knew that something like this required his attention.
Unfortunately, that attention was focused on when he could get his next cup of coffee.
He half listened as the crew dropped the first probe, and was pleased with how well it went. He'd heard about the work that Hu had done with the science team, and was glad that she'd done well. He had thought about running his own diagnostics on them, but decided he should leave well enough alone. After all, the CSO had done her own work, and he didn't want to seem like he was shoving his nose in where it wasn't needed. He'd worked for micromanagers like that before, and he hated them.
So instead, he ran diagnostics. A quick check on the comms to make sure they were receiving the probe's telemetry, and another one on the sensors to make sure they were still going alright with the added power. He didn't want anything burning out at the wrong time.
