==No worries. You're doing great, and we're here to guide you. Definitely makes for a good role-playing moment==
Miles results came in soon enough, and he perused the information as courses were determined on drop-off versus intercept. Though he wasn't able to get a clear idea on lifesigns or cargo, the information provided was that of a ship with ties to smugglers. A Klingon vessel wasn't always the best to have to engage, though Star Fleet's current peace with the Klingons definitely helped to mitigate any worry of a political incident drastically. It was never zero when it came to any of the powers in the galaxy, but it helped.
As he was about to give his report, Maxas-Darl spoke up on her determination of the intercept and the drop point. As he looked at what she spoke of, he could see where she had come to the conclusion she did. However, his brow furrowed as he wasn't as confident in the answer as his Midshipman was. As such, he ran a quick projection of his own to confirm. He got the results, and, as he suspected, there was more to the situation than the Midshipman's answer. He would need to correct it, but he needed to ensure he did so in the right way. He wasn't upset with his new Officer's report, it was just misguided from a lack of experience.
But she would get there. She was already on the path. She just needed guidance.
Miles motioned over to one of the available Petty Officers to watch the Tactical station as he approached the Helm. He looked over his Midshipman's shoulders for a brief moment to confirm she had received the same telemetry as he had before speaking.
"Under normal circumstances, Midshipman Maxas-Darl's plot course would be correct," he began. "However, given the nebula's interference to our systems, we won't be able to navigate quite as cleanly." He paused for a moment before giving his own report.
"Based on what I was able to determine of the ship," he continued, "It's registered as a Klingon transport vessel named qoH. It's registered out of Arcturus IV. Reports show the planet is a known safe haven for ships that, if not outright smugglers, aren't exactly...forthcoming...with cargo manifests and regulations. The ship is moving at a sedate pace, appearing to be undamaged. However, the probe doesn't have the capability of determining lifesigns or what cargo she may or may not be carrying." After giving his report, he turned back to Maxas-Darl and gave a reassuring smile.
"You're learning," he addressed her, quietly. "You'll make fumbles. The best thing is to pick up the ball and push forward. Don't let it affect you in the now. You're doing good. We'll talk more later." With that, he gave her a final nod before making his way back to the Tactical station to continue to keep an eye on the ship.
"Given that information, Captain," he said as he was back at station, "I do recommend we continue to the third drop-off, but I'll make sure to keep tabs on the qoH."
==Tag all. Hope this helps play things along. ==
