Miles had nodded at the Captain's response. Though his reasoning of continuing along while keeping an eye on the goH had been so they wouldn't be caught off guard, he understood and respected Captain Crawford's assessment and would follow through with her orders. As they approached, he considered the possible ways a response would come. When they were in range, he opened the channel per the Captain's request and waited.
He didn't have to wait long, though, as the response came in the form of a few pot shots that barely grazed the shields of the Artemis before the goH decided to turn heel and run.
