Amethyst wa beamed aboard the Titania directly to her bedroom. Looking around, she thought this was great conditions for a junior officer. She knew she had 1 hour to report to the Commanding Officer, and then get to the sick bay for her first shift.
After unpacking her belongings, she noticed that there was a bouquet of tulips on her night stand, she inhaled their sweet aroma and thought, Thank you Gran, I needed you with me today.
Straightening out her uniform making sure there are no wrinkles, Amethyst exited her room. The corridor was the standard grey with computer panels intermittently. She looked both ways to see if there was a turbolift in sight. There wasn't. Walking to the panel on the wall, she queried, "Computer, guide me to the turbolift." She noticed a trembling in her voice. She took a deep cleansing breath and followed the directional lights on the wall.
Once in the turbolift, she requested the bridge. While the lift took her to the bridge she opened up her empathy to judge the mood of the ship. There were a normal range of emotions.
The turbolift opened up to the bridge, she took another deep breath, straightened her red ponytail, and ushered her petite frame onto the bridge. Here goes, she reassured herself. Looking around the bridge she saw a rainbow of colors signifying all of the departments it takes to run the bridge. In the center she saw a woman with a short blonde bob hairstyle, wearing a captain's uniform. Slowly, she approached her, not wanting to interrupt.
At first, she quietly tried getting the captain's attention. Nothing was working. Then the captain turned in her direction and she froze at attention, "Mid. Dr. Amethyst Bremner, reporting for duty." Her voice cracked and she felt the heat rise to her cheeks.
I just want to get to sickbay to feel more comfortable, she was screaming inside while waiting for the captain to acknowledge her.
