The strength of her response took Peter slightly by surprise, but in a very welcome way. He was also quickly turning into someone completely different from his normal controlled, disciplined self. To the point where he had trouble thinking of anything except her.
When she dug her nails into his wrist, he only barely managed to keep himself from angrily pulling his hands towards himself again. Another sign of how different Human and Klingon society had evolved; what was seen as naked and hostile aggression - causing pain and drawing blood - in one, was seen as...very much not in the other. He had to fight that impulse even harder when she bit down on his neck, the sense of danger heightening to untold proportions by the caveman ancestor somewhere deep inside him who screamed at him that something that wasn't human biting at his neck was a very, very unhealthy thing to have happen and that he had best get the fudge out of dodge right now.
He fought the impulse down, however, though her slight growl - which reminded the aforementioned caveman ancestor of a large predator and just made the impulse to flee harder to fight - didn't help.
In the intensity of the moment, he didn't catch what she'd said in Klingon, but he felt the intention clearly enough, took her in his arms and held her out from her as their eyes met and he realized he had never felt about anyone like he felt right now...
