Maddie was reading the news on her console as she waited for cadets to arrive for their final exam. This was always the job Maddie enjoyed the most. She worked hard to keep the anxious cadets calm and the overly confident cadets on edge...just a little. She sipped on a chai latte as the first cadet of this time period approached her desk. She returned the smile the cadet gave.
"Hello Cadet Doyle," Maddie began. It's a beautiful day to finish your academy years, don't you think?"
Maddie did a quick glance to her console, tapping it a few times to check the occupied holodecks. Number one ready to go.
Maddie looked back to the cadet and continued. "Cadet Doyle, you're assigned to holodeck one for your final examination. Your instructor won't be long, so don't let me keep you... And good luck Cadet. I look forward to seeing and reading your name at graduation."
She nodded to the cadet, still holding a slight smile. As the cadet made her way to her waiting assignment, Maddie saw the line start to build. "Next," Maddie said.
